The NZDUSD technical analysis of the price chart on 4-hour timeframe shows NZDUSD,H4 is retracing down toward the 200-period moving average MA(200) after rebounding to 8-month high 3 days ago. We believe the bearish momentum will continue after the price breaches below the lower bound of the Donchian channel at 0.59767. A level below this can be used as an entry point for placing a pending order to sell. The stop loss can be placed above 0.60557. After placing the order, the stop loss is to be moved to the next fractal high, following Parabolic indicator signals. Thus, we are changing the expected profit/loss ratio to the breakeven point. If the price meets the stop loss level without reaching the order, we recommend cancelling the order: the market has undergone internal changes which were not taken into account.

New Zealand economy grew more than forecast in Q1. Will the NZDUSD retreat reverse?
New Zealand economy grew more than forecast in Q1: Statistics New Zealand reported New Zealand GDP grew 0.8% over quarter in first quarter after 0.5% increase in Q4 2024, when an 0.7% growth was expected. This was the second consecutive quarter of growth following two quarters of contraction. Economic activity in all three major industry groups expanded with the strongest gains seen in manufacturing (+2.4% vs. +0.1% in Q4), followed by professional, scientific, technical, administrative, and support services (+2.4% vs. -0.1%). Continuing expansion of New Zealand economy is bullish for New Zealand’s dollar and the NZDUSD currency pair. However, the current setup is bearish for NZDUSD.
